Car rental in Nepal — self-drive or with a driver

Yes. Every rate on this site is per day in Nepali rupees with VAT and all taxes already included, along with insurance and unlimited kilometres. The only things that can be added to a bill are an optional driver, an airport transfer, fuel you haven't replaced, or a late return.

Yes — airport pick-up and drop-off is a flat NPR 1,500: the same at Tribhuvan, Pokhara International and Bharatpur, for any car in the fleet, at any hour. Delivery to your door anywhere else in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Lumbini stays free and included.

No. Book a car for a single day or for a month — there's no minimum, and no penalty for a short rental. Weekly and monthly bookings move to a lower daily rate automatically.

Visitors need their national licence plus an IDP. Nepali licence holders just bring the original. We verify everything digitally before delivery, so there's no paperwork at pick-up.

You need to be at least 21 and to have held your licence for a year. The 4x4 and 12-seat classes start at 23 because of the routes they're built for. There's no upper age limit.

Yes, as long as they're named on the booking before they take the wheel — tell us when you book, or call us mid-trip and we'll add them in a minute. Additional drivers are free, and insurance only covers the people named on the booking.

Yes — every rental includes unlimited kilometres across Nepal. For rough hill routes we recommend a 4x4 from the fleet; tell us your route and we'll make sure the car is ready for it.

Distance is genuinely unlimited on public roads inside Nepal. What sits outside it is the use, not the mileage: no crossing an international border, no racing or towing, no driving instruction or paid ride-hailing work, and no off-road or unpaved routes beyond the ones agreed for that car class when you book.

Public roads across Nepal are open to you. We'll ask you to avoid routes a particular car isn't built for — monsoon-damaged hill tracks and high-altitude gravel in a city hatchback, for example — and we'll move you to a 4x4 rather than say no. Tell us your route and we'll flag anything that matters before you leave.

No. Our cars and their insurance are valid inside Nepal only, so they can't cross an international border. If your trip continues past the border, we'll drop you at the crossing and pick the car back up there.

Every trip includes roadside assistance anywhere in Nepal. We'll talk you through it on the phone, send a mechanic, or bring you a replacement car so your trip keeps moving.

Same-to-same: the car arrives full and comes back full, and there's no refuelling fee either way. If it's easier to hand it back short, we'll refuel it and charge you the pump price plus nothing.

A short delay is fine — call us and we'll usually just move the time. Beyond a two-hour grace period we charge by the hour, and past six hours it becomes another rental day. Traffic, weather and landslides happen; keeping us posted is all we ask.
